Leafy Messengers (Blakes Angels)
Sheila Badham
You were there, shining through
The green canopy,
Wings open
Hiding the sun.
You were the sun,
The moon, the stars
All heaven was lit
By your majesty.
Angels were my epiphany
Unlocking the world of wonder.
You were beautiful strangers
Speaking to me from trees
My leafy messengers.
He, my father
Turned his face away from me
Frightened by your truth.
