The autumn leaves will soon be gone
and another season will soon appear
For as the flowers wither, under cool damp air
it's a sign that winter draws near
As we glance out over our empty lawns
that once spew layers of green
But now we see that, it shows patches of brown
for another season is coming on the scene
There also stands our most favorite tree
that once bloomed like an open umbrella
Which gave us shade from the scorching sun
mow it hovels with leaves that are yellow
We glance through the woods that now are bare
they have even turned another hue
There is red and orange, all mixed together
but oh what a breath-taking view
So as our eyes behold that it's all around us
for there are signs of it everywhere
And as we rake, to gather up the leaves
we bag the proof, that it really was there
