In the blink of an eye.
We pass as shadows in the night,
As ships on the high sea.
We touch as waves caress the shore,
As the sun lays upon the sea.
You are a flicker of bright light,
A swirling mist of haze,
Brief as a rainbow in the rain,
A bolt of lightning in a storm.
We are just merely butterflies,
Flitting on the breeze.
Touching for a moment with our hearts,
And flying on again.
We are but sunrays,
From behind a cloud,
A shadow from a bee.
We are a drop of dew upon the grass,
That soon will fly away.
You are a moonbeam in the darkness,
The slight blink of a small star,
Just a flicker before a cloud does form.
A slight thunderous rumble in the far off distance,
Or the dance of a firefly by night,
Under the stars slight light. |
