The loud voice of an adult creates a lesser impact
Than the tears from the child's tiny eye -
And it has been proved many times, on the ground
Or even when we are flying in the sky!
The grabbing power of the baby's hands
Is not strong enough but can crack the heart -
In any single moment of the day or night,
And depicted so well in a busy painter's art!
Raindrops on tiny leaves drench the veins,
But may not satisfy the thirst of the tree -
While the roots try harder, to float near the surface
Where soil tends to breathe free!
Human rights also resemble the trees
By branching out in all corners of the Earth -
But thumping of the tyrant creates a reign of terror
To dampen the million's mirth!
Foods for thought supplied by shrubs
Are grown from seeds planted in soil -
By the people downtrodden with meager means
Through their inhumane toil!
But the tyrant never spends a moment
To feel the warmth of their tears -
While the greed spreads like wildfire,
Where the millions burn in fears!
Green blades of grass drench in chemicals,
And sunlight sends them back with greenhouse gases -
While evaporation of moisture rubs raw in politician's eye,
Where the law of ecology passes!
An indulgence to the destruction of ecology
Swims down the bottom of the priority list -
When the Heads of Nations simply mingle in the summits,
And in despair raise the fist!
Wisdom of the ages tells me now to take a quick pause
And wonder about the future of mankind -
In the next millennium, when happiness will be the commodity
That nowhere we can buy or find!
So, I think, the time has come, as we approach
To the end of the current millennium now -
And roam around the circle of desires, to milk a moment,
With the spiritual know-how!
