Gentleman In My Dream

I wait in the eve... for his presence...
As he visits me within mine own dreams....
He stands in the midst... in a garden...
Above... stars and moon are agleam...
His hand is outstretched to take me...
Beyond this garden so fair...
And I so eager in spirit and heart
To follow this gentleman there...
Though I know not where we are going...
No fear is there felt within...
For I know that he who is with me...
To my needs with much skill he will tend.
We travel beyond the garden...
And through a densely, wooded path...
My trust immense... and I follow...
Never questioning where we are at...
He silently leads me in darkness...
With only the light of the moon...
And whispers ever so softly...
'My dear, we will be there soon.'
No more had his words been spoken....
Than I spied this splendour in awe...
Then becoming even more grateful...
That this gentleman for me had called...
'Twas a mystical land of wonder...
Where the grass beneath my feet
Felt as soft and plush as velvet...
And the breeze there, equally sweet...
Hovering above us... twinkling stars...
That shone like glitter above...
The flowers seemed made of satin...
I so wondered what they were made of...
For even the trees there had blossoms...
So sweet their smell... like perfume...
And he and I lie... and looked at the stars...
Beneath the light of the moon...
The wind seemed to sing the sweetest song...
Whispering close to my ear...
I smiled to myself as I lay there and thought...
He has brought me to heaven 'here'...
I lay in his arms all night that night...
His love like none I had seen...
His touch like the petals of a rose so smooth...
And I did not want to wake from the dream...
His kiss upon my lips that eve...
Stirred within... a burning desire...
And his knowing touch upon my skin
Lit within my soul... a fire...
I join him in that garden...
Each evening as I drift away...
And each glimpse of heaven equally precious
As it was the very first day.
