Mom And Dad
Doris Williams

Sometimes it isn't fair
All the responsibilities we have to share
When a loved one gets deployed

A child asks a friend's Mom
Can I spend the night with Jane?
The Mom replies
Ask your Mom and Dad if they say the same

But of course Dad isn't there to ask
So Mom must accomplish this task

At school it's time for Donuts for Dads
But Dad can't make this trip
For he is away somewhere on a ship

So all you Moms out there
Who must play two roles
Let me tell you how this story goes

Your job is very important
Twice as much now
Although it might be nice to get a break
You will be lucky
To even have time for a piece of cake

But this is nothing new to you
It's just something we have to do

Hats off to all the Moms
Who have two roles
We may not know much about football
But we know the score
