Haggard's Halls ( III )
Paul E. Berube

Years have passed since victory,
reclaimed those halls indubitably.
Its' denizens are still around,
they seek a peace that can't be found.

At night you'll hear the wailing walls,
echoing misery through the halls.
On whistling winds, it is told,
creatures search for mortal souls.

In neighboring towns some unsure,
pledge to keep their home secure.
Fear for that which is unknown,
knowledge sought best left alone.

Elders knew, down below
the bowels of earth blood did flow.
Memories from that rise and fall,
has tainted walls in Haggards' Halls.
