I went to the ocean today
It's my favorite place
The water a sapphire blue
Waves splashing against the cliffs
Making that sudsy 7 up sound
The seagulls echo their tune
It's my inspiration, tranquility,
And peace.
Walking the sandy dune
Exhale the pollution of the city
Inhale fresh sea air
I never want to leave
The wharf shops of seashells
And salt water taffy.
Hungry sea lions bellow loud
For food.
Charter boats with barnacle bottoms
Tied on the post for life
The aroma of crab is thick in the air
Clear bottom boats allows you to
See what lies below
As it gracefully skims above
The ocean line
Locals are chattering and
Selling today's catch
On the months with R you
Can throw down a crab cage
From the edge of the wharf
On February, March, and April
Any one with R will do
Pull up a cage full of crabs
Big and small
Sometimes a starfish I have
Caught a few
Rain comes down with
Thunderous rage
Some lightning for effects
Inside the camper warm,
With my family boiling
Crab and having a feast
Our very own crab fest
Hot coca to keep us warm
As we play cards and enjoy
The storm
