What Matters
Dwayne Chastain
|
A thunderstorm, a foot of snow.
Won't matter to me, I hardly know.
A case of the flu, an aching knee.
Won't matter to me, I can hardly see.
Need a new roof, the grass won't rise.
Won't matter to me, it's no surprise.
Growing older, glass is half empty.
Won't matter to me, I have lived plenty.
Some folks say, At forty it starts.
Won't matter to me, won't play those parts.
Maybe I am wrong, could I realize.
Could matter to me, I need a surprise.
If there life out there? Am I just a hermit?
Could matter to me, Can I live up to it?
Days are going by, no time to waste.
It matters to me, I will start with haste.
