Would Do His Best
Jeremy Bjelland |
Joe is eighteen years old,
He is a senior in high school,
He is a star athlete,
He is every team's tool,
Joe gets good grades,
Goes on lots of dates,
Joe is a teacher's pet,
But he has a secret,
His life has been rough,
He has gone through enough,
When he was a child,
His mother had filed,
For a divorce,
And his father was forced,
To leave the family,
Joe cried "Why me,"
Then the father attacked the mother,
So Joe's brother,
Called the cops,
So their father could stop,
He was put in jail,
The mother started drinking,
She was never thinking,
What she would lose,
If she kept drinking booze,
She lost custody,
Joe thought "Must be me,"
Couple years later,
His mother died,
By committing suicide,
At age thirteen,
He was getting drunk,
He was turning into,
A big punk,
Then one day,
He got caught,
His brother ran away,
Joe was scared a lot,
Joe thought of his life more,
Then he knew,
That he had to change his life new,
Joe then promised to his family,
That he would do his best,
He would change his life,
And he would drink less,
Now here he is,
Just like he promised,
And now you can see,
He's the man he wanted to be.
