Late At Night
Helga G. Wilson |
She is still awake, still reading
When she should be in her lover's arms (sleeping)
Every so often, her mind drifts to him
She completely forgets, at what chapter she'd been
A soft melody through her bedroom sings
Of things still to come, of (restless) dreams
Her thoughts sail away on the nightwind's wings
Will they whisper to him
Of the many things she had seen
Wrapped in the velvet of her dreams
So she turns off the light
Sends a kiss through the night
In hopes it will find him
Wondering why she's awake,
When she should be sleeping.
