Insect
Cleo Patra
|
Praying mantis in a spider's web,
Too beautiful to die.
A life that ends too soon,
No explanation of why.
But she was only one of many,
No one really cared.
They could have untied the delicate lace,
But no one really dared.
She was perfect,
She was unique in her own light.
For as long as I recall,
I'll remember her last flight.
A fragile mother returning home,
Unaware of the trap beside her.
They all let her go,
To the fangs of a hungry spider.
