A Single Parents Prayer
Frederick D. Perkins |
Give me this night of pleasure
To ease the pain I can't measure
Please let my 9 to 5 be alive Without these "pennies from heaven"
I don't know how we could survive
I don't want a handout from Uncle Sam
My kids call him Uncle Don't Give A Damn
These are the things I pray for in
A SINGLE PARENTS PRAYER
I'm raising my kids on my own
When problems come home, I stand-alone
I cry the tears they don't see
Others have two parents
They have only me
Housework, homework, trying to get to work
The last thing I need is problems from the city clerk
These are the things I pray for in
A SINGLE PARENTS PRAYER
I stood my ground and kept mine
While others left theirs behind
Every night I say I love you
This is what a single parent must do
Give me the strength to keep going
This is the best I can do, not knowing
These are the things I pray for in
A SINGLE PARENTS PRAYER
