Autumn
Tammy Soleno

The song of autumn starts
It's time for summer to part

Crisp air refreshing and so very clean
Crickets communicating-makes a relaxing scene

I spot numerous squirrels running on telephone lines
Preparing for the upcoming winter, so their family will be fine

Pumpkins are seen visible at front doors
Preparing for the return of nightly goblins-Halloween once more

As darkness falls upon the streets
Noisy wrappers from the sweets

This year memorials light the skies
With the lost of stars and tears fill our eyes

Yellow loins of old cucumber vines are all that remain
And tumble weeds flowing down Marazzi lane

Grant us the serenity of autumn's light
Give us the strength for another year to fight

Outside the raindrops tumble down
A subtle music in their sullen sound
