Winter
Sherye Gibson
|
Listen to the storm as it howls through the trees
Watch the huge trunks as they dance in the breeze
Back and forth they sway, as they lean and bend
They seem to be only playing with the wind
The first few sparkling snowflakes fall
Amongst fallen leaves hardly noticed at all
Drifting to and fro, finally hit the ground
As joined by others, they begin to abound
A large white comforter covers the land
We all recognize Mother Nature's plan
Soon all of the leaves will disappear
As winter sets in for another year
