As the rain falls down
And the wind blows past
I'll try to remember,
As my heart steadily pounds
My dreams that never last
I surrender to the drops
As they wash away my hope
I force myself to recognize
Not knowing what's the cost
That I'll just have to cope
Nothing lasts forever
I know this, but I shun
The fact because I want to live
Until the world gets put together
Under the new rising sun
My dreams are the only comforts I find
I can be myself, I can be me, I can be free
Without the pestering voices
And chills of the unkind
Which most know as society
So I push myself to sleep
And to forget about the morning
I want to be here until the end of time
And hide from the hauntings that creep
Constantly screaming and scorning
I beg the rain to continue
Its force onto my soul
Drain all my pain and flood my mind
Be veiled from the world in my dreams, I must do
Because that's when I lose all control
