The Wind Was A Torrent
Tammy Soleno

Everything deserted
Nothing left to stand on
A fell empire forever lost
Snowflakes fall on shattered glass
Everything's gone
No hope
Pain and despair
Will nothing be the same?
Red and orange flames
Flicker in the darkness
Life suspended on
The ribbon of time
Swings its pendulum
Toward the future.
An endless raging sea;
A path of stars yet to be followed,
The wind was a torrent of
darkness among the gusty trees
In the wind there's dust,
as the cold wind of the
north slithers over
feeling it gently flow through
on a dark and stormy night
Mesmerized by the falling rain-
Walk not in the darkness,
Look for the light,
It's there before you!
Farewell to darkness
the horn has been blown,
it's sound flies through the valleys
The seed has been sewn
A new day for us all
The dawn is breaking in the east
Mother Earth hear our call
golden showers immerse us in
Away, despondence and despair!
Farewell to darkness and to sin!
our souls we sigh and pray,
O may it with clasped hands we prove
the dawning of a better day.
In the midst of a winter storm,
an angel emerges.
