No Time
Glorianna Foster |
As time ticks by our lives unfold
each day brings new thoughts and deeds
forgotten friends, half remembered dreams
memories fade different needs
as we grow old, new babies born
couples part fresh love found
darkness envelops till new day dawns
no one cares, if there's no one around
telephone rings shattering the silence
breaking into imaginings of yesterday
the music plays softly in the corner
reading cards and letters, words meant to say
door slams shut, another opens into space
traffic racing along the motorway
don't have time to stop a while
will we regret this out come one day
rushing madly, shouting screaming
no time for politeness voices snapping
machines churning minds scheming
plans wrecked accidents causing
STOP: listen to the world outside
to many people living on the poverty line
take care cause one day it may be you
who needs a friend the wires are so fine
when asked can you do something for me
think a while before you answer
don't have time to much to see
give them a hug is all they ask
dry the tears, say I will be there
is it really that much of a task
to hold a hand listen for a while
comforting words saying you care
just say Hello give a smile
it will simply brighten some ones day
Life seems too fast to simply stop and say "HELLO"
