The pitter patter of the rain hitting the puddles
Became hypnotic
Over and over again
splashing and splashing
Calming me down but making my heart race
Sweet dreams are sparked
As the raindrops ceased
And the lightning left
Leaving the sky black and barren
Leaving me alone
Buried in my bed
Half conscious but cautious of the whirling of the winds
Whipping at my window
Poking and prying to be let in
But their ferocity begins to fade
Leaving me alone
Buried in my bed
In a haven where I will sleep forevermore
