Between The Moments
Gilbert L. Roberts |
Between the moments I hear you breathing, you
sigh, I wish you were here. Standing alone on
this shore and looking out to sea and thinking
of days when love was warm, and you were in my
arms. The world was right and nothing could ever
be wrong again.
In your arms I found a place to hide from the
world, in your heart I hid until I was satisfied,
until I was safe, until you called my
name, again...and again...and again...I
will hide inside the memory of you until I can
touch you, until my hands can caress you and
explore all your hidden places once more.
I remember you, the warm sweet smell of you, my
body cannot forget your touch, my lips cannot
forget the taste of you, my arms have been empty
since you left. My pillows remember. My bed
can never forget, as you pass between the spaces
and I hear your footfalls in the echoes of my
mind.
