Right from just a little girl, my mom and I went shopping,
Together we would talk away, hardly ever stopping.
She'd help me choose my clothes and things, we'd stop to have some tea.
She was my friend and consul and she belonged to me.
I'd tell her all my troubles, she'd listen to my woe,
From birth to adult womanhood, she loved and watched me grow.
Always understanding, a treasure to behold,
She was a special lady who had a heart of gold.
She always seemed to understand the things I tried to do,
When there were things I did't say, I know she really knew.
Her hair was fair and curly, she had a lovely smile,
I'm glad I had her for my mom, to be with me a while.
She had a sense of humour, her company was great,
More than just a mother, to me she was my mate.
Her words and total guidance, not always I agreed,
But now that I'm a mother to, she knew just what I'd need.
She loved my dad and just the same, he loved her back as well,
They're love had blossomed in the war as far as I could tell.
Although I was only child, mom would always say,
Because you are the only one, you'll not be spoilt, no way.
Wasn't I the lucky one, to have a mom so rare?,
Throughout her life, she always was a person who did care.
Not perhaps in money or gifts in vast array,
I thought that I was very rich and loved so much each day.
She had to leave some time ago, her heart got tired and weak,
I understood she had to go, although difficult to speak.
The strength and drive she left me and love in all array,
I share with special people who deserves her love each day.
So when I think of someone, who changed my life, it's true,
My mother did it every day, are you listening mom...love you X
