Only The Memories Last Forever
Peter Addo

It only seems like yesterday when we shared dreams up the Hill
Your children played and laughed as you wiped away their tears.
Through pouring rain and sunny days you swallowed their pain.
As you whispered gentle words of love to each and then to all.
Two Souls strolling bravely down life's wretched paths
To fill the days with sunshine to avoid being strangers
Even when all fell apart separating the tears and the parts
The center held and that is the memory that lasts for ever.

Dedicated to the memory of my parents:
Mr. David Steven Oko Addo (1902-1984)
Mrs. Margaret Ellen Dedei Addo (1914-2002)
Kukuhill Accra Ghana West Africa
