A Moment In May
Colette M. Friedman
 |
And the waters fall and so the rivers run
Another day gone, and yet another begun
An opening of the mind, beyond the finished and undone
A palette of color bids the sky a cheerful May noon
Don't want the moment end, not a moment too soon
Breathing, alive, flowers awaken thy soul
Butterflies fluttering freely on petal patrol
Rose, hyacinth, jasmine, the like
Aromatic sensations embracing the daylight
As I walk with my child, hand-in-hand we move slow
Conversation erupts in an easy, cheerful flow
We converse about all, about here, and about there
We talk about memories and we talk without care
He is happy, he is glowing, a shared moment in fun
Yes, another day gone, and yet another begun
