In Time And Place
Paul E. Berube

You gasp for air, dare quest to breathe,
your final moment near.
Mere words won't soothe a waning heart,
man's grief so hard to bear.

Precious life slips through these hands,
it stains the soil beneath.
That helpless stare within those eyes,
surrenders to defeat.

Hereafter pain, you'll know no more,
a soul may not be bound.
Least of all, a life is worth,
it's stance on Holy Ground.

This broken heart will ne're forget,
each faithful beat remains.
Time and Place we'll make our stance,
when we shall meet again.

Dedicated to all who have had to bear the
lost of a loved one through the tragedy of war.
A soldier accepts his fate but those he leaves
behind bear the grief.
