As I closed my eyes to
Avail myself of much-needed
Rest, abominable thoughts
Crept into my mind and
Tempted me to commit
Actions that might have
Provided my body a
Feeling of sensation.
But I instinctively
Refused and declared
Unto God a silent and
Solemn prayer expressing
Unto Him that I would
Stand my ground against
This evil machination.
I also intimated unto
God that this valiant
Act of repelling the
Devil's advance was my
Humble offering to Him.
A few moments passed,
Then the wonderful, gentle
And pleasant caress of
Sleep took over my senses.
I have felt that my
Subconscious was somehow
Transported into the realm
Of a tranquil universe
Where great dreams and
Noble aspirations fluidly
Intersperse.
I opened my eyes with
A satisfied smile on my
Lips that signified the
Enjoyment of a pleasant,
Rewarding and rejuvenating
Moments of sleep.
I rose to say my prayers
Praising and thanking
The LORD. For I was once
Again blessed with a refreshed
Spirit as I opted to remain
In the realm of righteousness.
