Green Ghost

O', Aurora Borealis,
how like a green ghost
you burst upon the sky. Images
rising up in mute protest to nature.
As if asking...why so brief, why
so transient this green show
of light and vapor?
The evergreen trees
bend and bow beneath
dazzling majesty. Yet, I feel
like an intruder in this spectacular
display of green light dancing high above
the eastern sky. And, from this photo
image, my heart realizes
the true essence of the Creator...to bring
dancing light, everlasting beauty
into the briefness, the sameness
of our everyday lives.
