Ode To Pain
Sarah Maciel |
Oh deathly pain,
Where did you come from?
What menacing shell did you escape from?
Your malevolent soul seeps out of you like blood from a beheaded man.
Why must you haunt me the way you do.
Just execute me now rather than make me bear this horrendous torture.
Alas, my life is not my own, you have seen to that.
All that could be joyous is tainted by your callous intrusion on my thoughts.
Gnawing on my thoughts you feverishly distort my mind,
Seizing any chance I could possibly have of obtaining bliss.
Passionately you drag me into your every word.
Deceived, I believe you to speak the truth and I yearn for your comfort.
It is your embrace that I crave,
Your sinful essence is my drug.
I wrongly perform your vicious tasks on myself,
Knowing that I am killing myself.
Yet I am so enthralled by your presence that I know not how to flee.
Oh deathly pain,
Please just let me be.
