I have been around the world
Deepest darkest corners of the globe
Down south up north
I have been in the air time countless
And been through routes criss-cross
I've been many times on sea sails
I've seen the world top cities
And the greatest around the planet
I have lived in the thickets of the Sahara
Several nights in the African jungle
Many times mingled with the red Indians
In the forest of the coloured
I've been in and out of the oval office
The White House the pride of the Americans
I've felt the might of the Kremlin
Like any other in the Duma of the Germans
I've been down under the earth
The water place the Australian abode
I've gazed boldly at Elizabeth's crown
Like a noble in the Edinburgh palace
Dined and wined in the Rock House
The pilgrim town of Africa
I've been amused and excited
Thrilled beyond expression
I've had to let flow flood of tears
Felt pains deep to the marrow
All on the platter of books
With one library ticket
And behold!
The whole earth opens
Before my very eyes and mind
To wander and wonder.
