After Thought
Rouen D.E. Robinson

It's easy for you to walk away,
And not leave anything behind.
I can sit here and still smell your sent
We knew each other, not at all.

You can move somewhere else,
With me here to witness you go.
After sharing laughs and hurts caused,
I knew me but never knew you at all.

Look at my heart breaking now,
Even if you won't turn around to see.
And if you did you would see nothing,
Cause the me who was here is gone.

I look for any trace of you,
But I erased it when you left.
My memory is going blank of our time,
Feeling numb from your coolness.

Yet I can still taste you on my lips,
Your name a whisper on my tongue.
The shadow of you is etched on my soul
The odds are against it, but you linger.
