Wild and noble
Broken by man's ambitions
Hate fills yellow eyes
And fear causes you to snarl
Trust is cipher
Your instincts teach survival
Trapped in a world
Smothered by bitter confusion
Life offers little comfort
The noose tightens
You are captive in a land
Where freedom was boundless
Heed the bay of your ancestors
They summon their pack to lair
Follow the ghostly shadows
And dance to a new moon
This poem is about the plight of the Grey Wolf
and many other creatures who have had to learn
to adapt to man's growing greed and selfishness
while facing extinction. Man and animal alike.
