In my dreams I walk with you
down forest trails of emerald hues,
angel-kissed from morning dews.
Violets yawn in speckled blues
beneath the warmth of summer sky.
Glistening in the amber dawn
a tawny-coat, freckled fawn,
views with wondering, umber eyes;
Safe in the underbrush she lies...
unconcerned as we stroll by.
In awe, we gaze at mottled green,
graying giants whose limbs seem
to reach into eternity; grasping rays
of blinding light and swaying
to whispered lullabies.
Trickling sounds of ice-blue steel
beckon closer to reveal,
mossy banks of a watery lair;
Pink scaled guests spawn there,
treading water to mate or die.
Teal~blue Heavens swell to cry;
Aqua tears fall from the sky.
Clouds brood like darkened canopies.
Taking shelter 'neath harboring trees,
delight springs from Nature's revelry.
Storms of tears fall angrily.
Ebony skies shake violently
with rumbling voices of thunder.
Golden rods of Thor plunder
this serene oasis of tranquility.
Misty-grey clouds dissipate...
at once the aurous orb ornates
this swollen forest with glossy sheen;
Nature's haven reborn pristine
surviving the cloudburst's brevity.
As if a gift for stormy wrath,
a rainbow arcs above our path;
violet, blue, red, green
orange and yellow, this prism has been
a portrait painted brilliantly.
Reluctant, returning hand in hand
our dream swept journey had to end.
On billowy clouds you kiss my brow,
vanish from my dreams for now
to rest in my mind eternally.
