Sit And Listen Alan Tattersall
Lets just sit and listen to the day as it begins,
the early song of birds as they open out their wings,
can we hear the mist as it slowly passes by
or hear the Sun arise as it paints the morning sky.
Lets just sit and listen for another moment more
the Verger with his key walks past to unlock the Chapel door,
a croak or two from frogs as they rise up in the pool
the chatter of the children hurrying to school.
The day has started we must move our time for work has come,
we'll rest again when daylight fades together with the Sun.
Lets just sit and listen on this warm Spring night in May,
Can you hear the sound of darkness as it brushes out the day?
