Memories Of Katrina
Darby Diana |
Natures fury has taken our home,
New Orleans has drown in a disaster storm.
People fight to survive,
Mercy is needed to stay alive.
Soldiers came with food and drink, they cared.
Babies died, elderly citizens drown from neglect.
Criminals looted and raped, they didn't care about respect.
New Orleans police ran, they were cowards of the storm.
Five days without food and drink,
Surviving was at it's lowest brink.
Drain water ran on our roofs, walls fell with destruction.
There is darkness in 'The Big Easy".
Air Force choppers rescued me from hell, while politicians failed us.
I feel as though I survived a hellhole of terror and death.
