The Long Wait
Michael Crawford

Here I stand looking at the sea
Knowing this is the place to be
There are so many things to think about
With my thoughts, there are no doubts

I feel the wind brush my face
This is the place to let time waste
How calm is my heavy heart
I don't know where to start

The tall grass moves from side to side
The blade of the grass isn't that wide
I watch the grass move offering my thoughts departure
I surely have no answers to offer

I will stay at this peaceful place till sundown
My thoughts are surely bound
My thoughts reach out from across the sea
To a women I love I want so much to see

I see the Ferry coming my way
For nothing will allow my heart to sway
I see her face reelect such beauty
Everyone I know call her a cutie

The large Ferry now docks at the Pier
Oh how Julieann is so dear
I can hear the horn calling those to board or depart
My thoughts remain on Julieann, we will never remain apart

In my hand is her favorite yellow rose
I can't wait so we can be close
I am leaving here to catch this Ferry
I will never be weary
My love for her consumes my heart
Again I say, we can't grow apart

The time has come to board this boat
Now the temperature has dropped so I will put on my coat
The big engines are turning to take us about
My relationship with Julieann is so devout

I know she watches from the dock afar
If not this boat, a shooting star
I will be holding her very soon
On the shore on our island called Jettadune
