Christmas
Temitope Joseph
|
The crispness of the air
every morn when i rise
the fog like a smoky
blanket cast upon the earth
the cool satisfaction which
fills my lungs when i inhale
the freshness of the morn
are these not all signs,
jingling of distant bells
stirring up the adrenaline
within me
the distant smell of roasting birds,
smell of newness carried
on the wind
love's warmness engulfing the world
with every smile, every gesture,
every movement, every red i see,
i am more and more reminded
that here again is that season
which marks the essence of existence
that season when grandeur and humility
found inhabitance in an entity
here again, is Christmas,
when Jesus alone is the
reason for the season.
