The Unwelcome
Roger Belton |
Poor little mouse, all alone you see,
Wandering 'round the office, happy and carefree.
Just looking for food to sustain his mousie life,
Not realizing his appearance sparks fear and strife.
Some folks demand death for that innocent little critter,
Assuming where there's one, there'll soon be quite a litter.
Somehow he must have understood he isn't welcome here.
He vanished as quickly as he came,likely trembling with fear.
As he seeks a place to call his home, of this he has no doubt;
He'll not stay within these walls where folks cringe and shout.
He'll resume his lonely wanderings in quest of a cozy nest;
Hoping to find a special place where he's not labeled "pest".
