It's Raining Again
Alan Tattersall |
What utterly drab and dreary days
we get this time of year.
No glimpse of sun to warm our backs
and give us all some cheer,
Just steady rain that doesn't stop
enough to damp all hope
and faces that once had a smile
are learning how to cope,
with shaking out the brolly
drying out the clothes
and getting rid of the extra drip
that's hanging from their nose.
It creeps in under doorways
and makes the mat all wet
and when we watch the forecast
it looks as if its set,
to stay with us another week
this blinking blasted rain
I wonder if we'll ever see
Sun's smiling face again?
