From A Distance
Carissa M. Galow |
I see you standing all alone,
Inner struggles plague me,
Part of me wants to go up to you,
I'd look you in the eyes,
And, tell you how I feel,
But, then, another part of me pulls back,
Afraid of what you'll say,
How you'll react,
Will things get weird between us?
Or maybe things would get better,
Perhaps you feel the same way?
Or maybe not,
So afraid to tell you how I feel,
Afraid to risk it,
Afraid I might lose you as a friend,
And, it's better to be friends,
Than nothing at all,
But, the yearning is strong,
What do I do?
Till I sort it all out in my head,
I will just admire you from a distance.
