Claim
Nirmal K. Mishra

I never staked a claim
Whether in moments of euphoria
Or when I felt unhinged
I was there when they cried out
And made a beginning
There were shadows of mine
To trace their patterns in frame
And when there were visible signs
Of cultural virginity
They came along floating
On pool of sympathy
Now it has dried out
I can see them with clarity
What were their purpose and designs.
