In this land where heroes dream.
The flowing mountain stream,
Carries tears from Mount Olympus high;
Of all the mighty gods that cried,
For Apollo's lost young child.
In this place where lightning strikes;
The lone tree is cleaved in two.
And the dryad's burned to cinder;
From the savage revenge of Zeus.
For were these dryad's charged;
To care for Apollo's son.
But neglectful of their duty,
The child did fall and was gone.
In this realm of souls and gloom;
Where the dark god Hades rules.
Apollo's son has gone to shade;
And the dryads' sin must be repaid.
So the Furies have decreed,
The dryads' fate that is to be;
To spend eternity in the burning tree;
As they watch Apollo's son run free.
