My Lost Land
Nomita Guria |
We, People
Greedy for granule, starving with want,
Sightless with the headiness of liberty
and famished for everything,
For 59 years.
Are these all our achievements?
That we have done for our land...
We've scorched away the youthfulness from her crust,
Drown trough on her face.
Destroyed her harmony of mind.
what we have done for our land?
We sin and know it,
Not too blind to our faults,
We blind ourselves to each other.
I watch all with distress eyes, and
My heart torn into parts.
As we fight and riot, loot and plunder,
In the name on lost land.
Today we need a teacher to teach us again,
The lessons of love that we have forgotten.
Today we need a guide to tell us,
The lesson of faith that we have given up.
And to tell us again the stories of values and importance,
Of fearlessness and courage.
God, give us the land of your love,
where people speak sweet and spread the fragrance of their love.
Where no cry of anger breaks the cal,
where your words guides the way of imprudent,
From darkness to light.
Where the stars shine through unclouded skies
And the fields ripen with cheerful yield.
Onto such a world, lead us...
