A Rose In Midbloom
Michelle D. Lewis

When you were the tiniest baby
and God delivered you to me
I saw in you a dream come true;
a chance at what life could be.

The years have slipped by so quickly,
it's been my pleasure to watch you grow
into the wonderful woman you are today,
a loving soul I'm so proud to know.

Blessed with the pure heart of an angel,
you're sweet & tender, just and true.
I beg that life won't ever change this;
your heart holds no other way for you.

In this cynical world around us
so few possess your heart of gold.
Life's sorrows taint the purest heart
leaving it tarnished, hollow and cold.

I compare you to a rose, my child;
a beautiful blossom amid the gloom.
Though fully arrived you have not yet,
you're a rose cast in mid-bloom.

Your fragile foundation still needs care,
although budding youth is on your side;
a nurturing hand to guide you along...
as your mother...I extend with pride.

When the world finally gets to behold you
as you leave my arms and enter in.
They'll see a glorious rose at full blossom
whose outer beauty emanates from within.

You have become the vision, my daughter,
of all I ever dreamt that you could be.
I feel rich with Heavenly blessings
God entrusted this tiniest rose to me.

Dedicated to the beautiful spirit of my daughter Lindsey
