Yesterday's Ashes
Rouen D.E. Robinson

I really wish you had the might
You fought this thing for so many years
Cancer hit you as such a blight
And now we all must shed the tears.

The pain you felt we all could see
But you never showed us your fears
You made your problem like a flea
When it was actual malignant spheres.

I was there for your happy high
Could not be found for your sad low
Now you are somewhere you can fly
A place that we all would want to go.

It was fun to tell you things
When we were not going to & fro
Before you flew with angel wings
Which left us all with certain woe.

Eternal joy is yours for sure
And your life will never be forgot
We wish our time with you were more
Yet God knows all, and we do not.
