The Sound Of Silence
Brian L. Davis

Alone in the woods
A girl and me
Running and laughing
Playing Adam and Eve

A place in memory
I'll never forget
Lying around naked
Life was great

To young to care
Or to think we should
We laughed and played
In an acre of woods

Hidden from
The rest of the world
I lay and slumbered
With a brown eyed girl

Birds were singing
Laughing it seemed
I loved her
She loved me

I visit there often
I smile and frown
With her memory
I dance around

I curse reality
For her death
Then before I leave
Silence abounds

It may be fantasy
But it's what I hear
When the birds grow silent
Her presence is real
