On The Catwalk
Hamish Mackenzie

How they taint the sky.
Tease the eyes that adore them
Present themselves to serious voyeurs
who grow complacent about where to hide

On lookers offing themselves
on a band-wagon jacking off onto a distant muse
Ripe looking fruit with nothing inside
no sustenance, no questions
nothing but little specs being drawn to the sides

Drifting with cocaine wings
forgetting predecessors cursing the culture that defines them
swimming through crowds of admirers
asphyxiated by their wake

Being beautiful, like its a secret that gets
whispered and then distorted
glances longer than usual saying more than
you ever could.

Planting interest in men like seeds in the desert. getting undressed with a smile.
Blaming it on daddy while he sits alone praying for his little beauty queen.
Your wearing innocence like a low cut top

You make the world look fat
everything else lacks in comparison
Your body is a beautiful weapon but it murders people when you dance.

Being lonely in a crowded room, melodramatic everything with clean hands
Walking around all day with a stupid little box of emotions labeled "unique"
On the cat walk.
