Man's Best Friend
Addison Doxsee & Darren Rourke |
You had one blue eye, that's how you got your name
Without you; Aarons house will never be the same
The way you barked at the door annoyed me
Now instead of silence, I wish it was noisy
Your nick-name was stinky because you had a permanent stench
Now when we go the beer store, you can't wait with me on the bench
Every three seconds blue had to take a leak
And remember the time he fell in the creek?
I miss the way you would attack me when I was swimming
Now that your gone; the light of the world is dimming
One day I was blessed to find you friend
I never thought good times would end
Every time I see other dogs I will miss you
Thoughts of anger, loss, love and bliss too
Your death will live on through your family
Your spirit always was and always will remain free
I guess in the game of life, you win some and lose some
When I look at this glass; it's half-full of premium rum
Old friend you have made me feel truly lucky today
Knowing full well you are gone, I wish you did stay
This poem was written by your friends because we care
So that we can all remember a fallen comrade that was so rare
Reflection warms my heart always
I'll never forget the good ol' days
Gazing out at the water I see you...
Rest in piece my dear friend Blue
