What You Are To Me
Rouen D.E. Robinson

You're the last slice of cake making me sick.
You're the bad habit I'm trying to kick.
You're the wine I never should have drunk.
You're the date that has me in a funk.

You're the ring that makes my finger green.
You're the sight I never should have seen.
You're the cut that's just about to bleed.
You're the stray I always seem to feed.

You're the chore taking up my time.
You're the word I can't seem to rhyme.
You're the ride I never should have caught.
You're the gift none should have bought.

You're the one who makes me feel so old
You're the voice that always seems too bold.
You're the ship I shouldn't be aboard.
You're the car I know I can't afford.

You're the beauty that makes me feel weak.
You're the passion that I have to seek.
You're the body that I can't resist.
You're the approval which I insist.

Giving thanks is not always thanks giving.
