There is a certain star
Far up in the domed sky
And like the Angels far
In a nocturnal blue so high.
My star shines so extra bright
Being a world on its own
It spreads this red gleaming light
Like darts with a vanishing glow.
Sometimes I make out its face
And tell about my joy or sorrow
Like a good friend there in space
It gives me new hope for tomorrow.
Unfailing its twinkling solace
Out of thousands there above
My soul is joining this trace
