When We Fail To Acquiesce
Rouen D.E. Robinson

We let the battle commence
Our private little war
No way to recompense
All the feeling that are sore

The fury that is burning
Will blaze through out the night
Nothing is worth returning
All broken from the fight

No white flags are unfurled
As we both make our stand
A clash to shake the world
Is just moments at hand

Our hatred flows like water
No sorrow left to drown
For you are someone's daughter
A princess who wants a crown

You say I am so plain
An angel with broken wings
Our rage comes down like rain
An onslaught to rival kings

As deadly as sins seven
And thorough as a comb
As righteous as is heaven
And familiar as is home

Swift like a fleeing horse
Intrusive like a bad guest
This anger takes its course
Filling the heart beneath the breast

The winner will get plunder
From their victory they'll rise
Laughter booming like thunder
Loud enough to move the skies

And witness will assemble
To see who stakes their claim
Like disciples to a temple
Following their sacred flame

With no wisdom from beyond
And tension to boil the sea
There will be no magic wand
To clean up our debris.
