The stars in their horror
Have fallen from the sky
Nothing can persuade them to regain their lofty perches
They hide their faces from the world
A punishment for our unforgivable deeds
They cover their eyes so they will not see our shame
Their plug their ears so they cannot hear our folly
They turn their faces away, they cannot bear to look down upon those
They once bathed with their humbling light
Now, only darkness shines upon us
Readily willing to throws us into shadow
Giving more of itself than we want or need
A generous giver whom no one wants
The plight of the world is futile
One day, it will all end
We are in a cycle
Nothing new is created, nothing that has not been seen before
We are rodents on the wheel of life
Running, trying to catch up
But catch up to what?
We cannot see the wheel spinning around us, behind us, and under us
We are blinded by our progress
We are overcome by our advancement
We are slaves to our minds and our thoughts
But how can we ever be free from our souls?
Caught in a whirlwind of desire
If only to make it end
Take this heavy dagger
And rend my soul from me
... I cannot do it alone.
